A CHALLENGE TO THE "PRO-LIFE" CROWD

Alright, my wife's beliefs have maybe pushed me a LITTLE rightward on the abortion issue, but I have a challenge to anti-abortioners based on a piece of news I heard today on Democracy Now. Apparently a Save the Children report says the USA has the second WORSE infant mortality rate for any "industialized" nation (only ahead of Latvia, go USA!).

I can understand not wanting to "kill babies" through abortion. but it is not Pro-Life to vote for the party and the politicians advocating for zygotes but allowing such a holocost of real, living babies. Why is the religious right so concerned with the not yet born and so callous about the already born.

If the anti-abortion crowd really wants to be called "pro-life" they need to come out very strongly for true universal health care. The day that every American is actually covered by meaningful health care is the day the pro-choice side finds their argument a little harder. But how can you be pro-fetus and anti-child?
